GOD'S PROMISES - GOD HAS MY BACK

It amazes me when I realize how often God has my back and is working out situations in advance, even when I don't realize I need help.

Recently my daughter had an expense that I was planning on using a particular credit card to pay.  Other arrangements were made to pay that expense and later on down the line I needed this same card to help her out in a different more dire situation.

I see that as God working a miracle in advance in the first situation, so that the card was available for use when it was needed more in the second situation.

This lets me know that God had my back even when I didn't know I would need it! Just like He had my back, He will have your back too!

GOD'S PROMISES - DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP

Don't beat yourself up over mistakes that you make and cannot change.

Recently I went out one afternoon for ice cream with my daughter. With everything that is happening in the world today with the pandemic, it had been a long time since we visited this particular establishment. It was a nice outing. The weather was nice and we sat outside to eat and the ice cream was good. It was not until I returned home that I realized that I had been overcharged for my purchase. It wasn't much, but it was that fact that I didn't catch it and correct it while the purchase was being charged.

I was so upset that I did not catch the error that it was not allowing me to enjoy the memory of the nice time that we shared together. It wasn't easy to let it go but I finally was able to pray and ask God to please take this burden from me. I asked him to help me to forgive myself for not realizing while it was happening and also to help me forgive the cashier for the error, whether it was intentional or unintentional, so that I could move on and stop beating myself up and ruining the experience that I enjoyed.

God does not want us to live with regret or to beat ourselves up for mistakes that we cannot change. He will help you to forgive yourself and others for past and present mistakes no matter how big or how small.

GOD'S PROMISES - CLOSED DOORS

You may have instances in your life when no matter what you do it seems like you keep running into closed doors.

You want to advance in your company. You try for a promotion but you do get it. Not because you don't know the job but for some reason management decides not to select you for the position.  Months later the pandemic hits and you are sent to work from home, which you love, and all of the employees in the position you were trying to go to still have to remain working in office.

Later, you are thinking of moving to a lateral position in the same company. You have a friend that works in that department that tells you what the duties and responsibilities consist of and it sounds good to you. When your friend wanted to transfer, she did not have to apply. She notified her manager and was transferred the next day. You decide this is the job for you so you reach out to your manager to apply and are told you have to wait until the following week when the job is posted and apply. You don't understand why but you follow the instructions that were provided to you.  A week later you find out that certain aspects of the position have changed and it is no longer a job that you are interested in and you are so happy that you were not immediately transferred to the new position.

In both instances, God closed the doors. He saw what would happen if you were to get both of those positions and it would not have been in your interest.  Isn't God good!
