GOD'S PROMISES - A PURE HEART

It is very easy to become envious of things that you see other people achieving that you always wanted for yourself. Or to get upset when someones circumstances are causing a disruption in your life.

Times like these can make you wish bad things for the other person and have negative thoughts, wishes and feelings in your heart. Pray and ask God to help remove these feelings and to give you a pure heart free, from envy, fear or even regret.

One step that may help you combat these feelings is to pray for the best for the person you envy.

For example, you and a friend are tying to lose weight, your friend is losing more and faster than you are. Do get jealous or wish your friend's way will stop working. Pray and ask God to help your friend continue to lose and make steady progress. Or another example, your coworker is pregnant, you always wanted another baby but it just never happened for you. Also, when she goes on maternity leave you will have to assume the responsibility of her duties until she returns and you are already doing more than your fair share. Pray that she will have a healthy pregnancy and baby and also that the Lord will give you the strength to handle all of the duties you have to take on during her absence.

It is hard to have negative feelings brewing in your heart when you are constantly praying for good things to happen for other people.

God will bless you with a pure heart if you keep praying, trusting and believing that the negativity will be removed.

GOD'S PROMISES - MYSTERIOUS WAYS

It's funny that God will sometimes answer our prayers in the most mysterious ways.

I am at a time in my life where I really don't have a lot of finances to do fun things for myself and I wanted to go see a new movie. I was able to obtain a gift card so I didn't have to pay for the movie and I figured I could spend a few dollars to get a small popcorn and soda. As I was heading to the theater, I prayed and asked God to lead me to the right seat and to get the right snacks and also to let me not have to use the bathroom until the movie was over as I did not want to miss anything.

When I got to the concession stand to order my popcorn and soda, the price was much higher than I really wanted to spend but I was going to buy it anyway. Well, the employee was so rude to me that I decided I didn't want to buy anything. As a result I was able to sit through the whole 2.5 hour movie (without a bathroom break) and also after leaving the theater I was able to go buy a treat that I liked more and the price was more than 50% less than what I would have spent on movie snacks.

God promises to take care of all of our needs and this time he used a rude employee to do it for me!
