GOD'S POWER

God promises to help us through all of life circumstances.  We can find encouragement and comfort in the word of God to help us through any of life's ups and downs that we may be going through.

For God's help getting us through times of anger, see the following scripture verses.

"Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."  Deuteronomy 31:6

"...then, free of fault, you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear.  You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by."  Job 11:15, 16

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."  Psalm 23:4

"I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears."  Psalm 34:4

"Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea..."  Psalm 46:2

"As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.  Evening, morning, and noon.  I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice."  Psalm 55:16, 17

"But Jesus immediately said to them:  "Take courage!  It is I.  Don't be afraid."  Matthew 14:27

"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."  Timothy 1:7

The following is an excerpt from the children's book called "I'm Not Slow.  A Sally Bug Adventure"  On CD, written by Sheila Mae.

"Sally, did you study your spelling words?"  her mother called out to her from the kitchen as Sally bug quickly made her way down the hall to the front door to go play outside.  "Yes mom,"  was Sally's response.

But in truth, Sally really didn't study all her spelling words.  She never did, ever since she came up with what she thought was a brilliant beyond brilliant idea that could get her outside quicker.

It happened like this.  One day after school, Sally bug burst through the front door yelling, "Mom, mom where are you?"

"In the living room dear," her mom called back to her.  "What's all the excitement about?"

Slamming the door behind her, Sally bug rushed down the hall and rounded the corner into the living room.  After stopping to catch her breath, she began to plead.  "Mom, may I please, just this once, play outside before doing my homework?  You know how much I love to play the rock game, and a game is starting up in just a few minutes."
